Casa das Torres de Oliveira (Manor)
At Casa das Torres de Oliveira, we believe that wine is more than just a drink — it’s a bridge between people, memories and stories. Since 1991, we’ve been capturing the soul of the Douro in every bottle, uniting tradition and innovation to create wines that honor the past and embrace the future.
The history of Casa das Torres de Oliveira dates back to 1740, when it was commissioned by Doctor José António de Sousa e Faria, ancestor of the current owners, known for his elegance and passion for silk (seda) garments, which earned him the nickname “Sedinhas”. In his honour, one of our brands was named “SEDINHAS”, reflecting the legacy of dedication and respect for the land that we continue to preserve.
Today, Casa das Torres de Oliveira has remained in the same family for almost three centuries and the Winery is currently managed by the sixth and seventh generation of descendants (father and son), ensuring the continuity of a legacy rooted in tradition and passion for wine.

Tradition within Modernity
We produce around 60-80 thousand bottles of DOC Douro wines — Red, White and Rosé — and fortified wine — Port —, under the brands “CONSENSUAL” and “SEDINHAS”, each reflecting our passion for tradition and quality.
When making our wines, we combine the most modern winemaking technologies with traditional Douro methods. Examples of this include foot treading in stone or granite presses, used for the best grapes selected from old vines over 80 years old, and ageing for over a year in half barrels of French and American oak for our great wines, such as the Grand Reserve and Top Premium.
Our goal is to preserve the “Tradition within modernity” formula, making it synonymous with pleasure and good taste. This is the heritage that, over several generations, we have sought to maintain in our centuries-old lands.
A testament to this are the 150+ medals earned at prestigious national and international competitions — a recognition of our unwavering dedication to excellence.
